Annotation:
From digital data of Globe can be created cartons print form, from which can be printed, cut out and glued paper model of the shape of a globe. In this case, it was necessary to select the spatial body (polyhedron) first, that would suitably approximate the sphere that would be rigid enough and at the same time would not be too difficult to stitching. When searching for a suitable body the truncated icosahedron, diamond-shaped ninety- polyhedron, rhombicosidodecahedron, and pentakis icosidodecahedron were tested. As the best shape Pentakis icosidodecahedron was selected, it consists from of 80 triangles, where 20 ones are equilateral and 60 right isosceles. It has 120 edges and 42 vertices. Z digitálních modelů glóbů lze vytvořit tiskové podklady pro papírové skládačky, ze kterých lze po jejich vytištění a vystřižení slepit papírový model glóbu daného tvaru. V tomto případě bylo nutné nejprve zvolit prostorové těleso (mnohostěn), které by vhodně aproximovalo kouli, bylo dostatečně tuhé a zároveň by nebylo příliš složité na slepování. Při hledání vhodného tělesa byly testovány: komolý dvacetistěn, kosočtvercový devadesátistěn, rhombicosidodecahedron a osmdesátistěn (Pentakis icosidodecahedron). Ten byl nakonec vybrán a skládá se z 80 trojúhelníků, z nichž je 20 rovnostranných a 60 rovnoramenných a má 120 hran a 42 vrcholů.
