Annotation:
The paper is devoted to the life and professional and teaching activities of Professor Dr. Joseph Xaver Liesganig (1719-1799) ? a distinguished Austrian astronomer and land surveyor. Particular attention is paid to those works thad he either personaly carried out or supervised, such as the first sexagesimal measurement in the Habsburg Monarchy, catastral surveying of Galicia and Bukowina, and his administrative and professional activities in the town of Lviv in Western Ukraine. Popisuje se život, odborná a pedagogická činnost významného rakouského astronoma a zeměměřiče profesora Dr. Josepha Xavera Liesganiga (1719-1799). Zvláštní pozornost je věnována pracím, které provedl osobně nebo které řídil, jako např. první stupňové měření v Rakouském císařství a v Čechách, katastrální mapování Haliče a Bukoviny a administrativní a odborná činnost ve městě Lviv na Západní Ukrajině.
