The paper is a report on the European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly held in Vienna, April 7-12, 2019. In the introduction it focuses on the EGU structure, recalls the history of the Union a gives some basic facts, in particular the number of participants. The paper then continues with the content of the union scientific program in Vienna and in detail it gives information on its segment prepared by the Geodesy Division of EGU. It also gives information on the business meeting of the Geodesy Division and on forwarded scientific awards. Finally, the papers summarizes the importance of the whole assembly. Článek je zprávou o konání Valného shromáždění Evropské geovědní unie (EGU) ve Vídni ve dnech 7. až 12.4.2019. V úvodu zachycuje strukturu EGU, připomíná historii unie a uvádí některá základní fakta, zejména počet účastníků. Dále se článek věnuje obsahu vědeckého programu vídeňského jednání unie a v detailu pak jeho segmentu, který zajišťovala geodetická sekce EGU. Zachycuje také informace o pracovním jednání geodetické sekce a o předávání vědeckých ocenění. V závěru shrnuje význam celého shromáždění.
