The history of modern production of geodetic instruments in Saxony, which is one of the oldest and most significant production on the European scale, began in 1771. The article mentions the rich history and production of companies operating in Freiberg and Dresden. Dresden is the capital city in Saxony. Freiberg is an old town in the historic mining region of the Ore Mountains. Historie moderní výroby geodetických přístrojů v Sasku, která v evropském měřítku patří k nejstarším a svou úrovní k nejvýznamnějším, začala v roce 1771. Článek zmiňuje bohatou historii a produkci firem působících ve Freibergu, v historickém báňském regionu Krušných hor. Druhým vzpomenutým střediskem výroby jsou průmyslové Drážďany.
