Near real-time ZTD estimates from national GNSS reference networks in support of E-GVAP

Annotation:
Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) proved to be a very useful measurement technique for the troposphere monitoring, in particular for sensing water vapor content in the lower atmosphere. Near-real time tropospheric parameters estimated using GNSS hourly observations and a batch processing method are operationally assimilated into numerical weather forecasts within the EUMETNET EIG GNSS Water Vapor Programme (E-GVAP, https://egvap.dmi.dk). GNSS estimated parameters, namely Zenith Total Delays (ZTD), are provided station by station at a time resolution of 60 minutes and a latency between 30-90 minutes. A regional solution from several permanent newtorks in Czech Republic and Slovakia is performed on an hourly basis and the resulted ZTDs continuously contribute to the E-GVAP being assimilated by several national meteorological agencies. The accuracy of the ZTDs from the near real-time solution can be characterized with the standard deviation of 3-6 mm and systematic errors below 2 mm. Near real-timel ZTD monitoring is available at https://www.pecny.cz/TropNET and at the E-GVAP web page.
