Annotation:
The article presents one of the important activities of the Research Institute of Geodesy, Topography and Cartography, v.v.i. (VÚGTK), directed in particular to the department of the Czech Land Surveying and Cadastral Office (ČÚZK) in the area of fulfilling the metrological requirements of national and European legistation. The issue of metrological traceability of electro-optical and electronic distance meters is presented and technical parameters of the standard used for these purposes are described in the article. The standard was declared as a state standard for lengths of 25 m to 1450 m by the Office for Technical Standardization, Metrology and State Testing. Research Institute of Geodesy, Topography nad Cartography, v.v.i. has been entrusted with safekeeping of the standard by the above mentioned authority.
